Commentary on key points - SMT issues
Pre-requisites identified relate to hardware and access.
How important is the educational context; the school's teaching/learning plan?
Can this be attempted without leadership from the senior management?

The role of the 'champion' or CPD facilitator seems critical.
Is this an internal or external person? Does it matter?
How does the 'champion' learn how to use learning platforms?

Both the above bear on the school's change management approach.
Which would work best, a 'collegiate' approach with interested teachers starting to use learning platforms and inducting others, or a 'management led' approach where a whole staff move towards learning platform use?
Does this kind of difference of approach change what CPD tools are best?

Use with pupils or explore alone?
Is it essential for the teacher to be exploring usage with teacher involvement or can useful steps be taken before pupils have access to the learning platform?

Time and effort involved.
We are looking at a potentially huge task. What timescale is involved in teachers getting to a 'substantive' level of usage of the learning platform?
What are the critical achievements which will keep teachers motivated to commit time and effort? - So what should teachers be looking for and evaluating re impact?

B. Commentary on key points - teacher issues

Pre-requisites identified relate to hardware and access.
If my school is not yet moving on learning platforms, is there sense in my starting to learning about and use them? On what learning platform?
  Who helps me?

The self-assessment exercise seems critical in giving focus of what to do next.
What kind of self-assessment exercise is envisaged?

Time and effort involved.
We are looking at a potentially huge task. What timescale is involved in getting to a 'substantive' level of usage of the learning platform?
What are the critical achievements which will provide motivation to commit time and effort? - So what should teachers be looking for and evaluating re impact?

What functionality?
Is use of a learning platform to deliver resources the functionality that should be looked at first?
Will there be different CPD threads to look at the different kinds of learning platform functionality?
What are examples of 'quick wins'?

Personalisation.
Will personalization require the teacher to direct pupils to resources selected to be most appropriate for them, or will pupils self-select resources and tools they find easier to use?
